January 7, 1936 to April 19, 2023

Betty Jo LaFond passed away on April 19, 2023, in Duchesne, Utah. Betty was born on Jan. 7, 1936, to George and Nonie Mae Bales in Mesa Arizona.

Betty married John Sprecher in 1951; they later divorced. She then married Kenneth Maurice LaFond on Dec. 29, 1973, in Lebanon, Oregon. Betty was a devout christian. She loved sewing/quilting with a passion! During the pandemic, she made masks for the Duchesne Clinic. She enjoyed watching old western movies and doing yard work and gardening. She loved spending time with family and reading her scriptures.

Betty is survived by her children, Don (Teresa) Sprecher, of Kanab, Utah; Pamela (Randall) Helms, of Duchesne, Utah; Darrel (Lynett) Sprecher, of Duchesne, Utah; and 20 grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her dear husband, Kenneth; daughter, Gail Robertson; grandson, Reuben Helms; and all her siblings.

A great thank you to Taneisha and Chris from Canyon Home Care & Hospice, and to the Duchesne locals that helped her and Kenneth in their final years.
