Vance Gardner, age 55, of Indian Bench, passed away on May 16, 2023, in Vernal from a long illness.
He was born on June 10, 1967, in Roosevelt, to Gilbert and Cheryl Redcap Gardner.
He married Marie Sixkiller on Aug. 30, 2012, in Vernal, Utah.
Vance was a talented artist who loved to draw and let his imagination run wild on his canvas. He liked to work on vehicles and always lent a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Vance’s love for nature and the outdoors was unwavering as he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time riding in the mountains. His taste in music was diverse. However, he had an affinity for rock and roll bands like KISS and Metallica and was known to enjoy some good old country music now and then.
He had a Happy-Go-Lucky personality and loved spending time with his family.
Vance is survived by his wife, Marie, of Vernal; his children, Cheryl Gardner (A. Ironhorse Ridley), Vernal; Brandy Gardner (Jason Manheimer) and Darla (Jason) Garcia, both of Ft. Duchesne; Allen Gardner, Salt Lake City; Rebecca Gardner, Ft. Duchesne; stepchildren, Carlin Ignacio and Tara Ignacio (Arden Post II), both of Ft. Duchesne; 12 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; father, Gilbert Garnder, Indian Bench; sister, June Gardner; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shannon Gardner; mother, Cheryl; family members, Mathew McGill, Michelle Gardner, Victor Large, Lester Chapoose, Jr.,Michael Gardner, April Gardner and Eric Bush, Sr.
Funeral services were on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 9 a.m. at Gilbert Gardner’s residence on Indian Bench.
