Omu’s Journal Legacy Trees

I visited three of my favorite trees last week. I know that you’re not supposed to have favorites, but clearly, I do. They are the only tamaracks (western larch, Larix Occidentalis) that I know of in Uintah County, and are growing almost defiantly on the grounds of the Uintah Care Center.

Omu’s Journal Solar Tortoises

On the road from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, I drove past an odd, science-fictiony sight. Off to the north of Interstate 15 was a scene out of “Bladerunner 2049”. There were roughly a zillion mirrors carpeting a desert valley, and in the middle of them, something resembling the control tower of an airport. I learned later that its grand name is the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating System.
