Workers for Opportunity Applauds Utah House for Passing Milestone Worker Freedom Legislation

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – On Monday, Jan. 27, the Utah House of Representatives passed landmark legislation by a 42-32 vote margin. A pro-democracy and pro-worker measure, HB 267 enhances individual worker choice, fosters transparency and accountability, and ensures the protection of Utah workers’ rights.

From Therapy to Advocacy: The Many Faces of Social Work

Utah State University offers bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work in the Uintah Basin. You might ask, “what exactly is social work?” You may think you know this answer, but I suspect you know part of the answer based on someone you know rather than the profession as a whole. Many do not completely understand all that social work includes. Social work is a dynamic profession dedicated to enhancing the well-being of those who are vulnerable, (this can be individuals, families, groups, and communities). It could even be assumed that all people and places are vulnerable at some point in time.

Rosy-finch Viewings with DWR

On February 8, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and the Ashley National Forest is hosting a free viewing event to see Rosy-Finches. The birds are typically very elusive though in the winter they are easier to spot due to the white landscape.
