Duchesne’s serving was too much for Tabiona to handle in a Basin rivalry volleyball match.The Lady Eagles collected a 25-23, 25-21, 25-20 home victory over the Lady Tigers.The first set proved to be neck-and-neck with the two squads playing at an even pace.With the score tied at 23-23, the Lady Eagles scored the last two points of the set for the early momentum.Duchesne started to take control in the front row behind a balanced offensive attack for the four-point win.Tabiona wanted to force a fourth set, but that didn’t happen.The Lady Eagles celebrated the win on their home court.Duchesne finished the match with11 total aces to make it hard for the Lady Tigers to go on a deep run on the offensive side of the ball.Duchesne’s Prezley Farnsworth and Presli Young recorded three aces apiece.Chezney Farnsworth registered 11 kills.Kira Grant finished with 15 assists and Harlee Roll had 14.UnionThe stage is set for the Lady Cougars to make the short trip to Uintah, which should be a fun and loud atmosphere in Vernal Wednesday night.Union has won the last few years against the Lady Utes.Uintah is hoping its large senior class will be the difference for the home team this year.Start time for the varsity is planned for 6:30 p.m.The Lady Cougars dropped a 3-1 decision to North Summit on the road.The Lady Braves took control early, winning the first two sets 25-12 and 25-23.Union played its best volleyball of the match in the third set when they won 25-25North Summit secured the victory 25-17.Defense was the name of the match.Both teams were solid, making several diving plays to keep the rallies alive.
