Union stepped up to play 6A Copper Hills in the volleyball season opener in Roosevelt.The Lady Cougars, who are in 3A this fall, earned a 3-1 win over the visiting team.“I was proud of our team effort,” Union coach Chelsey Jones said.

A jam-packed schedule has generated a 3-2 record for the Union High School girls soccer team.The wins have been over Juab (5-0), Parowan (7-0) and Summit Academy (11-0).Union’s setbacks were against Maeser Prep Academy (3-1) and Carbon (2-0).“I think that we are doing okay,” Union coach Atlee Zipf said.

With an experienced and deep team, the Union High School volleyball program has high expectations for the season.
Tom Clark has adjusted to his role as the new Duchesne High School head football coach.The process for the former longtime assistant coach at North Cobb High School in Georgia to keep the Eagles a contender in 1A started on June 3.“Things are going well,” Clark said.

Union coach Dustin Long is hoping a year under his belt with the Cougars will translate into a winning season for 2024.
