Duchesne’s Draker Goodliffe thrives under pressure when he comes up to bat with runners in scoring position.

Chanley Green is the most decorated girls wrestler to come out of Uintah High School.The senior is a three-time individual champion and was noticed by several women’s coaches at the next level.Green signed a national letter of intent to wrestle at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado.“I’m very excited to continue my wrestling career,” Green said.

Uintah evened the regular season series with a 1-0 victory over Provo at Coach Belcher Stadium April 26.

Altamont, Duchesne and Union all picked up softball wins heading into postseason play.

Union and Morgan emerged as the top two teams early on in the Region 13 golf standings.

Duchesne knocked in a productive week of softball games with a 3-0 record.The Lady Eagles swept Gunnison Valley 16-6 and 13-2 in a home doubleheader April 19.In Game 1, Duchesne built a 5-2 lead after two innings.

Tom Clark has created a successful high school football career as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at North Cobb in Kennesaw, Georgia.He was recently hired to be the new head football coach at Duchesne.Clark replaces Jerry Cowan, who stepped down from the position, to be in charge of the Hurricane program.“I’m extremely excited,” Clark said.

The Union boys and Uintah girls track and field teams piled up enough points to win titles at the Eastern Utah Championship at Price April 19.The Cougars finished the meet with 326 points.
