Altamont edged Milford by nine points to win the 1A Divisional B team title.
The competition was used to seed wrestlers for the state tournament.
Altamont qualified 17, while Milford will be sending 11.
Panguitch won the 1A Divisional A team crown, making sure 20 wrestlers locked up a spot for state.
The state tournament will be held at the Sevier Valley Center on Feb. 7-8 in Richfield.
Levi Scott (113), Chaz Thacker (120), Dillon Ivie (132), Gage Bird (138), Mccrey Beal (165) and Colten Mullins (175) all won divisional titles.
Ivie was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at divisional.
He dominated his weight class.
Ivie pinned Justice Jones from Escalante in 42 seconds in the quarterfinal round.
He pinned Peyton Thomas from Milford in 1:18 in the semifinals.
Ivie pinned his teammate, Ryker Thacker, at the 1:09 mark in the title bout.
Duchesne
The Eagles won three Boys Division B titles, placing fourth in the team standings.
Duchesne scored 170 points. Beaver (306.5), San Juan (235.5) and Kanab (197.5) finished in the top three.
“Duchesne performed really well at divisional,” Duchesne coach Andrew Bench said. “There were some heartbreaks but all the boys wrestled their hearts out and that’s all you could ask for. The competition was tough. Beaver, San Juan and Kanab are all ranked in the top five teams in the state for 2A. It wasn’t easy but we train the boys to wrestler tough matches and tournaments.”
Duchesne’s Easton Moat won his title at 106 pounds.
In the finals, Moat pinned Liam Lacy from San Juan in 1:15.
“Easton is a tough kid,” Bench said. “He comes from a wrestling family, with a Dad that’s one of two four-time state champions Duchesne and an older brother that was a two-time state champion. Easton has a passion and a drive to push himself to be the best he can be.”
Moat’s teammate, Kasen Bird, took a 5-4 win over Beaver’s Trey Bradshaw in the 126-pound finals.
Bird was named the Most Outstanding Wrestler at the divisional tournament.
“Kasen is very much the same,” said Bench. “He comes from a wrestling family that knows what it takes to win big matches. He’s got a great worth ethic and is mentally tough.”
Jackson Stansfield completed the finals for Duchesne with a pin against Kanab’s Deagan Allen midway through the first period at 285 pounds.
“Jackson is very gifted,” Bench said. “He’s got a natural ability to counter a lot of wrestlers’ offense. He has a lot of confidence in himself and his technique.”
The Class 2A state tournament is Feb. 6-7 in Richfield.
“I think the boys are excited and I’m expecting great things,” Bench added.
Duchesne qualified 15 wrestlers for the event.
“We would love to see them all place in the top six,” Bench said. “We expect the boys to rise to the occasion, no matter who stands across the mat from us.”
