During the month of November, we honor the brave men and women that keep us safe every day.
Every week for the month of November I am going to be honoring a few of our veterans and giving them a chance to tell their story.
This week’s feature is Jim Bryson, a veteran of the Marines for eight years.
Jim enlisted in April of 1986 where he served until February of 1994. When he first enlisted he was full of excitement for the unknown and that continued throughout his whole career.
“My time in the service was full of excitement because of the unknown,” said Jim Bryson.
While serving Jim traveled the world being stationed in South Korea, Okinawa, California, North Carolina,Tennessee as well as visiting Kuwait, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand, the Philippines, and Africa.
Later on in his career he was part of operations Desert Shield from August 2 1990- January 17 1991 and Desert Storm January 17 1991- February 28 1991. Once that was over he went to Somalia to continue his career.
The best memories for some are the people they were with and that rains true for Jim.
“My best memories of my time in the service are the brothers and sisters I served with,” said Jim Bryson.
I would like to thank all our veterans for their service as well as a thank you to Mr. Jim Bryson for his time and service.
