Keith Nielsen

After a long courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease, neuropathy, and a brain injury, Keith H. Nielsen, age 78, of Roosevelt, Utah, returned home to his Heavenly Father, beloved Savior Jesus Christ and reunited with his son, Doug, who he has missed dearly for almost 16 years. He will be welcomed home by his parents and many other loved ones.

Keith was born March 3, 1944, to Lamar and Olive Young Nielsen. He was the second of five children. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Linda K Brisbin, on July 16, 1963, in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity.

Keith had a great love for family and found joy in supporting them in everything they did. He also had a great love of nature and enjoyed many hours camping and hunting with family. He was a champion team roper and his son, and many of his sons-in-law and grandsons treasure memories of roping with him.

Keith was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved his Savior and served in many callings including Bishop, bishopric counselor and Young Men’s president. He served three missions with Linda including one in Tampa Florida.

Keith is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; five daughters, Sherry (Ed) Winn, Shirley (Kenny) Domgaard, Kathy (Richard) Ross; Ralynn (Santee) Warby, Jeanie (Maclain) Luck; 27 cherished grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Shelly) Nielsen, Renae (Byron) Grant, Leon (Lisa) Nielsen; and many loved nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Keith Nielsen; parents, Lamar and Olive Nielsen; and brother, Floyd Nielsen.

Services will be on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Roosevelt East Stake Center, 502 N. 600 E. There will be a viewing on Tuesday evening at the Hullinger Mortuary from 6 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday at the church.

Burial in the Roosevelt Memorial Park.
