March 7, 1937 to February 21, 2023

Virgil Jerold Clements, age 85, of Roosevelt, Utah, died Feb. 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born March 7, 1937, in American Fork, Utah, to Joseph Blain and Viola Phillips Clements. He married Colleen Doty on July 22, 1977, in Las Vegas. They were sealed in the Provo Temple in October 1992.
Virgil served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked many years as a wireline operator in the oil field. He was the “Go-to” guy for fixing any type of ATV or Lawnmower. He had an affinity for old classic cars. He really enjoyed fishing, camping – just anything outside. He loved and adored his grandkids, and was a kind, sweet, person who helped everyone.
He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and really liked to work in and attend the temple.
Virgil is survived by his wife of almost 46 years, Colleen; his children, Jerry Clements, Neola; Danell (Chris) Parker; Robert (Rexine) Taylor, both of Roosevelt; Donald (Shanna) Taylor, Vernal; Cindy (Travis) Johnson, Texas; step-sons, Brett (Julie) Robbins, Cedar City; Bart Robbins, Neola; 26 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol (Gary) Petersen, Castledale; Roxey Clements, Oklahoma; Linda (Ray) Belka, St. George; David Clements, Yuma, Arizona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Edward, Sheldon, Ella Rae Clements, Alice JoAnn Candland, Glenna Quick; Earlyn Nickels.
Services will be on March 1, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the Roosevelt West Stake Center. There will be a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be in the Roosevelt Memorial Park with military honors.
