December 6, 1943 to March 7, 2023

Carla Ann Smith Braithwaite, age 79, of Myton, Utah, died March 7, 2023, at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

Carla was born Dec. 6, 1943, in Myton, Utah, to Donald Bruce and Ida Dallas Reese Smith. She married Boyd Ruben Braithwaite, they shared a 62-year courtship, before he passed on Dec. 18, 2020.

Carla owned and ran a dog grooming business since 1976 in Myton. She was a fabulous seamstress, loved to garden, and travel with Boyd. She loved to cook and feed people, especially her family. She had a great sense of humor, was kind to all and was a people person. She cherished her family, and they were her everything.

She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She is survived by her children, Boyd C. (Kelly) Braithwaite, DeAnn Nielsen, Don (Linda) Braithwaite; 13 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald A. Smith; and sister-in-law, Venice Ann Miller.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd; her parents, Donald Smith and Ida Jackson; parents-in-law, Sarah Venice Poulson, and Ruben Henry Braithwaite.

A memorial service will be held in the Spring.

Cremation under the direction of the Hullinger Mortuary.
