November 3, 1934 to April 4, 2023

David C. Adamson, Orem, Utah. David Cummings Adamson, age 88, died peacefully surrounded by family on April 4, 2023, at Covington Senior Living in Orem Utah.
Born on Nov. 3, 1934, in Pleasant Grove, Utah, to David A. and Nellie Rae Cummings Adamson. He graduated from Wasatch High School, in Heber, where he lettered in basketball and football. After graduation, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Dad was proud to be a veteran. On returning from the military, he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northwestern States Mission, spending the majority of his time in Alaska.
He married Dawnette Kohler in 1958 in the Salt Lake Temple and they spent the next 46 years raising their family in Roosevelt, Uta,h where he owned and operated Uinta Basin Tractor. He loved working with the farmers and ranchers of the Uintah Basin and there wasn’t a baler, bale wagon or tractor he couldn’t fix. Dad served faithfully in many church callings throughout his life.
After Mom passed in 2004, Dad married Mary Jo (Gordon) Coleman. They lived in Coral Canyon, Utah, until 2020, then moved to Heber. They spent many summers on the Ranch in Fruitland. Mary Jo passed away in Aug. of 2021. Mary Jo was an angel to Dad. She taught him the other side of ranching and farming as Dad now had to tend to watering by moving sprinkler pipe and working on the Ranch. Thank you, Gramma Jo!
Survived by his four sons, Alan (Mary Ellen), David (Melanie), Kevin (Janna) and Steve (Deedee); 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Dad loved his family.
Thank you to the caregivers of Covington Sr. Living for the late-night “Snickers bars” for our dad.
